What is it?
42 Macro is a subscription service built around Darius Dale’s macroeconomic research. If you want a clear, data-driven read on where the economy and markets are headed before you touch your portfolio, this is the guy to listen to.
What was your role?
I’m the sole developer behind the web app, frontend and backend. It’s a full-featured dashboard written in React and TypeScript where subscribers explore the research, watch the videos, and talk to each other on a bespoke social feed. The backend is a Node.js Lambda function in front of a PostgreSQL database on AWS. Nothing exotic, and it has stayed fast and cheap to run for years.
Anything you’re proud of?
That it quietly does its job. The whole thing runs on a handful of AWS services I can hold in my head. Being the only engineer means every decision is mine to make, and mine to live with, which keeps me honest about complexity.
